We're known for selling missile silos, airplane homes, inflatable churches, personal bunkers, private island and even the Johnny-Light toilet nightlight.

When and why did you start the biz?
I have been selling stuff on eBay since 1999. But in March of 2002, my IT program manager contract ended and I was laid off. There were no jobs to be found in the newly downturned economy, so I started selling things out of my house to make ends meet. I then decided that I could sell other people's things for them also.

How Many People are in your Company?
Just me.

Where's your office?
I have a home office just off the kitchen. It is surrounded by "I love me" walls adorned with various awards, memorabilia and parts of my history. I have a personal bathroom with a Texas Flag motif.

What's the toughest part of running your biz?
Watching an auction go by without any bids. It happens sometimes and it's not a pretty sight. Many owners inflate the value of their property and get disappointed when people do not come near their dream price.

What's the most fun part?
Watching two or three bidders battle out the auction until the very last second!

Anything you would have done differently?
I would have sought advise from the people who had already started an eBay business rather than starting from scratch.

What's next on the horizon for your biz?
Taking public some of my companies that I represent.

What advice do you have for others?
Don't listen to advice from anyone who is an employee. Seek out entrepreneurs and mirror their successes.

Just when you are ready to throw in the towel -- take one more shot at it (just in case this is the big one).

Networking with other business owners will only help to expand my knowledge.

Is there any one person or event in your life that led you to go into business for yourself?
Every boss who made me sit in a seat for eight hours when I was able to complete my work in two!
