Going, Going, Gone – Missile Silohome slashed price draws first bid

Owners make the eBay auction more attractive to upper-middle class and investors

SARANAC, NY – October 2, 2002– Franwick Industries this week refocused the sale of the Missile Silohome that made headlines last month during its debut eBay auction.  They set the opening bid price at $550K to attract a wider demographic of bidders and their plan succeeded. Their first bid came in this week at a cool $1.9M.  The auction ends on October 25th.

"We knew that the right person or company was out there for this property, and we fully expected to sell it on eBay," said Donald Peters of Burnet, Texas, whose company IwillSELLyourSTUFF.com markets high-end products for people on eBay. “We’re realistic and we know that a multi-million-dollar property may not sell the first time out the gate. We still have a way to go to reach our target price and have focused this auction more on investors who may see the income potential that we do with the actual silo."

The silohome’s above ground chalet features a number of luxurious amenities as well as one-of-a-kind novelties such as the 2,050-foot paved airstrip and a single engine airplane. Hidden below the chalet lies a fully self-contained two-story luxury home that has been remodeled from the old Launch Control Center (LCC). A tunnel from the LLC through two blast doors leads to the 145’ by 50’ unfinished Missile Silo tube.

"Response to this property has been so tremendous. The Silohome auction last month received the most visits for any property on eBay in a thirty day period." says Bruce Francisco, co-owner/developer, "This auction has been featured on the Today Show, CNN, TechTV and will also be featured in other upcoming television programs.  Gregory Gibbons and I decided to drastically lower the initial bid and reserve prices, and offer some very attractive bonuses to the first few bidders to really get this auction started, and it looks like that idea is working so far."

The first bidder will get an additional 78 acres of land and also an addition to the surface home if they become the auction winner.  The second and third bidder will also be given bonus incentives.

This month’s auction also focuses in on investors and the empty silo, with examples of Timeshares, an Airpark and other investment vehicles.  The site includes illustrations of multi-million dollar incomes, demonstrating that these entrepreneurs are seeking bold and ground breaking investors.

“W are willing to work with investors and venture capitalists on any one of these proposed projects,” said Mr. Francisco, owner of Dreambuilders and www.silohome.com, “ we know that this could be a very lucrative investment and we just need an angel to help us take it to the next level.”

The Missile Silohome auction will run on eBay until 25 October.  Only $550k is required to make the initial bid.
